Your appetite for culture is legendary, and here there’s definitely no need to hold back. First on the cultural menu is wine, and the refined palates of the Vineyards & Discoveries quality label have selected wines from three estates: Château de Marsannay, Dufouleur in Nuit Saint-Georges and Clos Saint Louis in Fixin. Next it’s time for some local heritage, so why not tag along to a guided tour of Dijon, climb the Philip the Good Tower and take a walk to the Well of Moses. And to explore the regional delicacies, your pass provides entry to a dairy, a museum dedicated to sparkling wine and a distillery. The pass costs €16 (€8 for 12-18 year olds) and provides entry to 11 different locations. We’ll leave the arithmetic to you. It’s the perfect way for a couple or family to immerse themselves in local culture.

Situated in the historic core of Dijon, this warm and friendly restaurant serves traditional, fresh and seasonal cuisine: poached egg in a red wine sauce, free-range poultry à la Gaston Gérard, cassis macaroons and Ratafia jelly. There’s also a terrace in a listed Gothic courtyard for when the sun is shining as well as a wine bar where you start the evening off.

In Vougeot — between Dijon and Beaune — this old mill made of Burgundy stone dates back to the twelfth century. It has now been restored as a boutique hotel with ten rooms on the ground and upper floors. The setting is comfortable, rustic and intimate, and the staff friendly and considerate, making it the most relaxing of places to stay.
